The CanCare study: equity-informed cancer care

Palliative Care Victoria has been awarded a 2026 Cancer Australia Supporting People with Cancer grant for When cancer happens in the context of homelessness: Building workforce knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver person-centred care – the CanCare study.

Partner organisations are OneBridge, St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, the University of Melbourne and VCCC Alliance.

The project will co-develop, pilot and deliver an online education resource for multidisciplinary health care professionals caring for people experiencing homelessness and cancer. Drawing on OneBridge's practice expertise and the MartMolly Method©, and working alongside people with lived experience, it will support clinicians to apply trauma- and equity-informed approaches to care.
